Sharanabasaveshwara College of Commerce was started in 1961. This Institution is one of the earliest Commerce Colleges in this Kalyan Karnataka (Hyderabad Karnataka) region. Over the years it has become one of the prestigious institutions as there has been a consistent infrastructure development with both men and material aiming at imparting quality education. This institution is located in heart of the city covering an area of about 3.5acres. It has a picturesque landscape with bountiful greenery in its surroundings. A person with an inquisitive mind may start wondering how this reputed Institute has been in a position to carry out this process of learning and teaching effectively, efficiently and always imbibing the cult of pursuing excellence among the teachers and the taught.

About Sangha
The Sharanabasaveshwara Vidya Vardhak Sangha, which runs more than seventy institutions, founded in 1903, works on the education philosophy propounded by the President of our Sangha, Poojya Dr. Sharnbaswappa Appa. The philosophy goes thus, ” No religion is greater than service. Teaching and learning not only for the sake of livelihood, but also for the welfare of others, thinking that serving humanity is serving God, is Kayaka Dasoha philosophy of education”. As the famous poet Robert Frost says, we indeed have “Many miles to go and many promises to keep” to a great extent our management has been treading this path relentlessly. That is why our president Poojya Dr.Appaji has given us the essence of educational philosophy in the following pithy statement.

Sharanbasveshwar College of Commerce, Vidya Nagar, Kalaburagi established in the year 1961 by the renowned Sharanabasaveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangha. The prestigious Sangha, established in the year1903 aims at imparting quality education to the Hyderabad-Karnataka, now, Kalyan- Karnataka region. This college has very successfully completed 60 years with a modest growth every year.
Escalating to greater heights, the institution has dedicated towards the all-round development of the students to excel in business, research, entrepreneurship, legal services, social activities along with the education sought to procure the degree. In the year 2015 the institution was accredited by NAAC with “A” grade. Permanently affiliated to Gulbarga University, Kalaburagi the institution acquires 2(f) and 12(B) status of UGC. It is recognized as institution of excellence with Quality Management System ISO 900:2015. Providing quality education to the students is the main motto of the institution with the constant guidance of the management and the sincere efforts of the faculty.
